Jimmy James Eaton
Currently Hoo Haa Melbourne’s Artistic Director, Jimmy’s a rising star in Australian standup comedy and improvisation. He’s performed extensively across Australia’s live comedy and theatre industry, the corporate and mining industries, as well as touring overseas to London and Edinburgh. He has also presented for and appeared on ABC TV and Channel V.
He has many credits to his name including… 2009 National Australian TheatreSports Champion “Best & Fairest”, / 2008 Jesters Pies Comedy Cup Champion /2006 WAMG “People’s Choice Award” winner / 2005 Channel V Masked Avenger Champion / 2003 MICF Triple J Raw Comedy Australian National finalist.
Over the short six years of Jimmy’s stand up comedy career, he has performed at the Edinburgh, Sydney, Melbourne and WA International Comedy Festivals, and his listof sellout shows include Jimmy James Eaton’s Sausage Sizzle (2007), Eaton Alive (2008), This Is Your Life… Sort Of (2008), Jimmy James Eaton, Improsapien (2009), and When Jokes Strike Back (2010).
He’s has opened for the likes of Will Anderson, Des Bishop, Tripod, The Scared Weird Little Guys Glenn Wool, Reginald D Hunter, Jim Jeffries, Corrine Grant, Fiona Olaughlin, Tom Gleeson, Greg Fleet, Dave Callan, Charlie Pickering, Akmal Sali, Dave O’Neil and many more.
He’s also collaborated with comedians such as Tim Minchin, Jimeoin, Greg Fleet, Claire Hooper and Tim Ferguson.
As an improviser and specialist tutor in improvisation, Jimmy has worked and performed with London’s Grand Theft Impro, Impro Melbourne, Theatre Sports Sydney, was an original cast member of The Big HOO-HAA WA and a founding father of Hoo Haa Melbourne and Free Love Impro.
