Natalie Holmwood

In 2005 Natalie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Performance delivered jointly by the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and the School of Contemporary Arts.

She has been involved in a wide variety of shows including Artrages’ October Festival in Crossfire as an aerial performer, Friedrich Durrenmatt’s The Visit directed by Mathew Lutton, the musical comedy Motor City Blues at the Adelaide Fringe festival and Zen's Red Mouth at the Blue Room (Winner of Members Choice Award 2006).

Natalie has as a part of a creative team performed and devised both City of Cake and Hope is the Saddest, staged at the Blue Room in 2007 and Brisbane Festival’s Under the Radar (2008), her performance in Hope is the Saddest (Winner of Best Production 2007) also earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer for the Perth Theatre Trust Equity Guild Awards (2007).

Natalie has also been involved in the Feet First Emerging Artist Program with Legs on the Wall Physical Theatre Company (2007) was apart of the touring ensemble of Romeo and Juliet for Essential Theatre and was an artist in residence for the 2008 Creative Challenge through Awesome Festival.

She has performed in Female of the Species (2008) directed by Tom Guttridge with Black Swan State Theatre Company and was a member of their emerging artist 2009 HotBed Ensemble; which staged The Dark Room and Pool (no water) both directed by Adam Mitchell the latter earning her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the Perth Theatre Trust Equity Guild Awards (2010).

Most recently she was a recipient of the Australia Councils’ Jump mentorship program (2010 – Mentored by Deborah Batton) in the creation of the piece The Pigeon and performed in Barking Gecko Theatre companys’ show Aesops Fables (2010) directed by Marissa Gareffa.

Natalie hopes to one day be a panda.
