Welcome to the Big HOO-HAA!

Fast, furious and funny, The Big HOO-HAA! is Melbourne's longest-running and best-loved weekly impro comedy show. Starring a who's who of Melbourne's finest comedians, every Friday night from 8 pm The Big HOO-HAA! ensemble dazzles audiences with it's unique brand of high-octane impro, killer punchlines and sizzling (and occasionally fizzling) one-liners.

"Impossible not to have a good time." - Herald Sun

Hosted by the Butterfly Club in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, two teams, the Hearts and the Bones, battle for comedic supremacy before your very eyes, armed with only audience suggestions and a handful of props as they leave no song unsung, no joke undelivered and no pun unpunished in their mad dash for the punchline.

"Improvised comedy at its absolute funniest." - Time Out

Running in Perth since its creation by impro guru Sam Longley back in 2002, The Big HOO-HAA! arrived in Melbourne in July 2010 where it quickly became the go-to for audiences seeking a riotous alternative to traditional comedy nights. Having recently celebrated its fourth birthday and moved to an exciting new primetime slot, The Big HOO-HAA! plans on making 2015 its biggest year ever. Come and see what all the hype is about!

"The Big Hoo Haa is what my parents can blame for me being what I am today - not a lawyer, but instead an employed comedian who can create a scene from thin air and a suggestion of a thing you wouldn't want to find in your bathroom. For example, this whole paragraph is made up...I'd say: it's the best improv night in Australia, where you can see the best improvisers the nation has to offer, or the next big stars of stage and screen (and radio), sometimes both in the same person. And scene."- Dan Debuf (FoxFM's The Dan and Maz Show)

"Hoo Haa makes funny out of nothing. It pulls funny from the ether, which isn't easy to do. On any given night, you can see the comedy superstars of tomorrow building a ridiculous, hilarious world, which explodes with gut busting laughs, then disappears forever. It's comedy magic created by improv magicians, conjuring funny out of your suggestions. And quite frankly, if you don't watch it, you're dead inside. Live a little and see what the Hoo Haa is all about." - Luke J. Ryan (Nickelodeon's Luke & Wyatt)
