Dave Massingham

David Massingham is a Brisbane-born improviser, sketch comedian and RAW Comedy state finalist with a career spanning three decades of spontaneous performance, ensemble comedy and dangerously quick thinking.

He was recently alarmed to realise he first stepped onto an improv stage in the mid-1990s, and has been collectively improvising ever since.

Across his career, Dave has performed as an ensemble member with Improv Queensland and Impro Melbourne, representing at events including the Theatresports National Championships. His improvisation experience also notably includes performing with a border collie, which remains one of his most emotionally honest scene partners.

Dave is the creator of Murder Village: An Improvised Whodunnit, a critically acclaimed improvised comedy format that regularly sells out seasons nationwide. Most recently, Murder Village presented a season at Melbourne’s Arts Centre Melbourne, further cementing its reputation as one of Australia’s most popular improvised theatre experiences.

When not performing long-form narrative improv, Dave can occasionally be found in sketch comedy projects including Sketch Me Like One of Your French Girls and Little Sketch Book of Horrors, continuing his lifelong commitment to structured nonsense.
