Louisa Fitzhardinge

Louisa Fitzhardinge is an award-nominated improviser, musical comedian, voice over artist and word nerd.

Her critically acclaimed musical comedy, Comma Sutra, enjoyed sold out runs at Melbourne Cabaret Festival, Hobart's Festival of Voices and Perth Fringe World and was nominated for Best Cabaret at the latter. She has now performed it over 100 times over the span of ten years, including a month-long stint at Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

She is the creator and MC of The Australian O-Pun, an improvised punning competition that has enjoyed sold out shows across Melbourne and Perth. Most recently, Louisa and her husband (fellow Hoo-Haa! improviser Andrew McClelland) collaborated on a new musical comedy entitled The Von Donk Family Old-Timey Vaudeville Revue, which was nominated for a Green Room Award for Best Cabaret, as well as Best Comedy at Melbourne Fringe.

Along with The Big Hoo-Haa!, Louisa is a member of much-loved Melbourne improvised comedy troupes Murder Village: An Improvised Whodunnit, Impromptunes and Spontaneous Broadway.

On the more scripted side of things, Louisa played comedic heroine Rosalind in As You Like It (Australian Shakespeare Company, Hero/Dogberry in Much Ado About Nothing (Bar'd Work) and Fabian in Twelfth Night (Australian Shakespeare Company). She also played Mary O'Malley in Caribbean Pirates on the Polly Woodside (Australian Shakespeare Company), Mayor Matilda in Showdown at Two Bob Billabong (National Theatre for Children) and Gilmer in Godspell (Room 8/Australian Shakespeare Company), which toured to the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Arts Centre. Her TV roles include Terri-Anne in The Inbestigators and Jean-PS in Bertram Poppingstock, and she has voiced four audiobooks and thousands of TV and radio commercials over her 16 years of being a voice over artist.

In her spare time - when not working her ‘day jobs’ entertaining children in hospital as a Captain Starlight or presenting comedy Maths shows in schools - she goes nuts for a good board game night or pub quiz.
