Malith

Malith (he/they) is a Melbourne-based actor, improviser, comedian and theatre maker of Sinhalese heritage whose work spans stage, screen, improvised performance and original contemporary theatre.

An experienced and versatile performer, Malith has worked extensively across theatre and screen while also building a strong reputation within Melbourne’s improv and comedy community for his sharp instincts, emotional intelligence and grounded comedic style.

Alongside performing with The Big HOO-HAA!, Malith is also a cast member of Soothplayers’ acclaimed Completely Improvised Shakespeare, bringing wit, theatricality and spontaneous storytelling to one of Australia’s leading improvised theatre formats.

Most recently, Malith has expanded into creating and developing original independent work, including productions such as Fifi’s Fifth! and Sri Lankan Fireteam: The Power of Song. His emerging body of work explores identity, culture and performance through a distinctly playful, collaborative and contemporary lens.

Whether performing Shakespearean nonsense completely off-the-cuff or developing original theatrical work, Malith brings warmth, intelligence and a quietly magnetic stage presence to every performance.

See Malith performing live in the Big HOO-HAA! Fridays in Carlton.
