Mel McGlensey
Mel McGlensey is a multi-award winning writer, performer and teacher based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia.
Mel has studied and performed improv, stand up, clown and sketch comedy all over the world. Her debut clown show, the multi-award winning Mel McGlensey Is MOTORBOAT, took home both the Best Comedy award at Adelaide Fringe as well as the Hollywood Fringe Tour Award and a Golden Gibbo nomination at the 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her follow up show, Mel McGlensey is NORMAL, was shortlisted for the Best Comedy Award at Melbourne Fringe in 2025 and long listed for the Best Tech Award at the ISH Comedy awards in Edinburgh Fringe 2025.
Offstage, Mel has been a contributor to Reductress.com since 2016 and was a Features Contributor at The Onion. Her writing can also be seen in The Hard Times, The Betoota Advocate, The Huffington Post, The Mighty, Today.com and more. She has a special interest in games, interactive experiences and the overlap between theatre and play as well as feminism and body positivity.
