Ryan Patterson

Ryan is an improviser, actor and theatre educator based in Victoria’s Macedon Ranges. A graduate of Federation University Arts Academy, he has been performing improv comedy professionally for more than a decade.

Ryan has performed with The Improv Conspiracy as part of its house Harold teams and festival productions, and is a co-founder of Soothplayers — creators of acclaimed shows including Completely Improvised Shakespeare, Completely Improvised Potter and Improvised Survivor.

In 2019, Completely Improvised Shakespeare was nominated for Best Comedy at the Melbourne Fringe. Since then, Soothplayers productions have toured across Australia to rave reviews, packed houses and sold-out seasons.

Alongside performing, Ryan is an experienced Theatre Studies teacher, director and facilitator with a passion for storytelling, comedy and ensemble performance. He currently serves as a Committee Member and Marketing Coordinator for The Big HOO-HAA!.
